My Walt Disney World Trip!!!

We had a party the night before I left for Disney. The party was at my Aunt Jenny’s house. Mom and my sister Peggy wore Minnie Mouse costumes. I wanted Dad to wear a Mickey Mouse costume, but he said “No.” He didn’t want to look “weird”. There were brownies and awesome pretzels with Mickey faces on them. We played Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Eeyore and ate pizza with pepperoni and black olive Mickey faces on them. My Mimi and Papa were there, and also me, Mom, Dad, Peggy, my cousin Jeffrey (who was still sleeping), my other cousin Megan, Aunt Jenny’s friend Amy, and Jeffrey’s girlfriend Kaylia.

The first thing I thought when I woke up on Disney Day was “What the heck is going on?!” because Amy ran in and flicked on the light and yelled, “Our plane leaves in two hours! We slept too late! We have to go, now!!!”
We didn’t have anything for breakfast, but I got a donut at the Dunkin’ Donuts at the airport. Then we went through Security, then we waited at our gate for a few minutes, then got on our plane. When we got on our plane, for the first half of the trip I looked out the window, but for the second half I watched Hotel Transylvania 3.”
When I first walked onto the airplane, I realized that it was very small. I thought it wasn’t going to be comfy, but the chairs were really nice and had lots of space. We rode on an airline company called Jet Blue, which I give a 5-star review, because they gave out unlimited snacks and the movies were free.

There were numbers above all the seats, so you could find where you were supposed to sit. I got window seats both times. The first time I was right over the wing, and on the way home I was 2-3 rows behind the wing.

On my first flight, I could see the wing and the clouds, but on the way home it was dark so the only thing I could see was all the lights from the cities. But when you’re scared to death to ride in an airplane, you won’t really be looking out the windows, much.
My first flight was pretty smooth and I wasn’t scared, but the flight home was very bumpy from turbulence, especially when we went through the clouds on the way up and down.
It’s a weird feeling being up in the air… when you see a plane up in the air it looks stable, but when you’re inside the plane and it starts to come down, it just feels like it’s falling and you feel like you’re raising up in your seat like floating in no gravity. And when you’re in the air, it feels like you’re held up by mystical forces. You can’t really tell it’s held up by jet engines.
On the first flight I got a little bag of cookies, but on the flight home, I got a little bag of cookies plus two bags of chips because I was starving… even though at the Airport I had just eaten Burger King.
When I got to Disney, the first thing I did was go through Security. It was around 10 or 11:00 in the morning. We got on a bus called The Magical Express. It took us to our resort, called Pop Century.

When we arrived at our room, we got some things and left. Our room was very small, and Megan didn’t like it, but I did. It had a bathroom and a TV and two beds. But we didn’t use the TV much because we were out a lot.

There was a cafeteria at a neighboring resort called The Art of Animation, which was where my cousin Emily and my Aunt Monica were staying, but we mostly ate at our cafeteria. The mac n’ cheese was good at our resort, but I liked the food at the Art of Animation resort, better.
One thing that surprised me about Disney World was that even though I *knew* it was going to be hot, I didn’t expect it to be THAT hot. It was around 90 degrees. I expected it to be sunny every day because it’s Florida, but we also got a lot of rain - which shows how little I know about Florida.
Walt Disney World was different than I imagined it. Our resort was very colorful, more than the real world. I also expected all the parks to be together but they were in their own separate areas. Disney World was a little smaller than I’d imagined. I’ll bet it cost a lot of money to make. It looked very expensive to build. It was very busy… I didn’t like that there were so many people.
I think I prefer calm things there, like reading and going to the pool. I liked some of the rides, but some were pretty scary. I really liked the ride, “It’s a Small World”. That’s a boat ride and it was really good. On the boat ride, you travel through each country and the music plays “It’s a Small World” in each different language.
Some of the gift shops smelled like new things. There was a LOT of noise! Music was always playing everywhere you went and people were always talking. In the Magic Kingdom, the Mary Poppins “Chim-Chiminy” song was playing near the gate.
I liked all the tech at Disney and at Tomorrowland because it focused on a bright future and good things, and not the real things that are probably going to happen...
When I went to Animal Kingdom, I could hear “Hakuna Matata” playing near the front gate. I could hear fair music in some places, too. It was carousel music.
I went on these rides: It’s a Small World, Spaceship Earth (at Epcot Center), the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (that one was a roller coaster. I didn’t like it very much), The Haunted Mansion (I didn’t like that one, either. It was very loud and dark). We also went on the Harambe Wildlife Reserve. That was a truck ride with real giraffes and gorillas and elephants that we could see. That was really nice - it was one of my favorites at the park, and that was in Animal Kingdom.
I also went on the Transit Authority People Mover in Tomorrowland. That was like an open monorail! It was kind of like a roller coaster for people who don’t like roller coasters because it was peaceful and went very slow. There were no bars to hold you in and it was all open around you. It carried us over everything and told us all about the other rides. We could see the roller coaster and hear people screaming on it. It was kind of freaky. Peggy would love the People Mover ride.
Waiting in line for the rides wasn’t bad. We waited in line a lot, but the scenery was very interesting so I just looked around a lot and was entertained. There was a lot to see.
The best snack at Disney World was the Super Sunday. It was a giant ice cream with 4 scoops and whipped cream and hot fudge and a cherry on top. I didn’t eat the cherry though. I don’t like cherries.

The country I liked best at Epcot Center was Italy because it had this good pizza restaurant. There was a statue of a naked man. Why would they have that at a children’s theme park???
Some of the shows I saw were: Fantasmic, The Monsters Incorporated Laugh Floor, The Festival of the Lion King, The Journey of the Little Mermaid (which was a live-action reenactment of The Little Mermaid). We also saw Finding Nemo the musical, which was another reenactment. That one was really cool. It was also live-action, but they didn’t try to hide the people or anything controlling the puppets. You could clearly see them and you just had to use your imagination. What I really liked was that the stingray was being held by a person riding a bicycle.

I met Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Lilo, Stitch, Ariel, Flynn Rider, Rapunzel, and Daisy… Most of the characters were silent but the princess’s talked. Too much really…

I wasn’t really looking at the other kids since I was having so much fun, but I did notice no one was upset!
I liked spending time with Aunt Jenny because she’s so nice and forgiving.

If I went back to Disney World, I would want to ride all the rides I already went on, but I would like to ride on the Tomorrowland Speedway, too!
I brought home a lot of candy and an Ariel doll for my sister Peggy.
The best part about being on my own for two weeks was that I didn’t have to follow any rules! Like having a sugar limit! Or having only to watch 1 hour of TV a day!
I was a little nervous when Megan took me on The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster. It went REALLY FAST and I will NEVER forgive her!
One thing they should add to Disney World is an area for people who like the calm kind of fun, like a little library or a quiet area with books and boardgames.

Going to Disney was the best trip ever!
